Getting Started

A Debian-based Linux distribution with Xfce desktop, Calamares installer, and custom branding.

1Download the ISO from the homepage

2Create a bootable USB drive

3Boot from USB and select "Basalt Linux" from the GRUB menu

4Run the Calamares installer and follow the on-screen instructions

5Reboot, remove USB, and log into your new system

64-bit processor
2 GB RAM
10 GB disk
UEFI or Legacy BIOS

Installation

Download the ISO from the homepage and write it to a USB drive (8 GB+). Boot from the USB, select "Basalt Linux Live" from the GRUB menu, then launch the Calamares installer from the desktop to begin installation.
